Being new at this I've just been researching on signs and symptoms, which I know the most common: morning sickness, peeing a lot, and sleeping a lot. But here is the thing.... I pee a lot already and I sleep a lot already. I can take a nap any time of the day, and people would always ask me if I'm pregnant because I pee so much. I just have a small bladder. As far as morning sickness I'm just saying I won't have that symptom. I don't want it. :) So I'm thinking... how will I know when I am pregnant? I read that one lady could feel that she was pregnant. I'm not sure if it was her first baby or what, but how do you feel when your pregnant? Is that just something you can't explain, or is it a specific feeling. Someone else told me too that she could feel when she is ovulating... Really? Maybe I know what that feels like, buuuuttttt I don't know... does that make sense?
I love being able to research about things... so I've been spending a lot of time reading up on becoming a mommy... yay...
One of my favorite websites so far is The Bump from The Knot. If you haven't checked it out and your looking into becoming a parent, or you a parent and are looking for advice check this website out! It's got great articles and forums.
Does anyone else get confused with the whole ovulation thing? Cause I do. Reading about the calendars you can use to find out when your ovulating confuse the heck out of me... or using an ovulation detector. They may not be that difficult, but reading the directions makes it sound so confusing and something I don't care to do. If I have to I will, but right now I don't feel I have too. What I using, which obviously isn't accurate but it's an app for phones, the iphone has one called period tracker, but now that I have an HTC Evo it's called Pink Pad.
It's a really cool app and we'll see how accurate it really is. Because I'll be using this to track when I'll be approximately ovulating...
It's cool because it will also tell you when your next period is about to start and I've been using this type of app for about 4-5 months and I have seriously really started my period when it says I should.
You can also use it to monitor your moods for any specific day, monitor your weight, when your intimate, spotting, or even how your flow is.
Then of course there is a month view of your period calendar. Showing you all that you'd added into your daily logs. When you started your period, when it ended, it automatically shows you when your ovulating and when your fertile. It's an all around a pretty useful app. Unlike the champagne app.. haha.
I can't wait to see how this works for me...
Wow, this is so exciting!! It would have been nice to have this experience with our child.. we were not planning on having a baby at all, not any time soon anyway! We were using protection, birth control.. the whole nine! However, we found out through experience that antibiotics cancels out birth control. Who knew? lol Apparently everyone but me!! My husband and I were on a cruise to Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and somewhere else (I forget.. I'm very forgetful! lol) and the first night I had him up walking around the top deck to get fresh air with me! All night! I was so sick, and really didn't think anything of it - I chalked it up to the storm we were sailing through even though I'm accustomed to being on the water and never had a problem. lol Then there was the awesome Mexican food we sat down to eat.. two minutes after being in the restaurant and smelling the food, I ran to the bathroom and by the time I came out, my food was in a box and everyone's plates were cleared. haha I'm part hispanic, and love any sort of hispanic food! However, everyone assumed I drank the water or something at that point. LOL At the very end of the trip, the last stop, my husband and I had joked that maybe I was pregnant and picked up a 1$ pregnancy test as part of the elaborate joke. Even when it turned out to be positive, I still didn't believe it. lol It was a 1$ pregnancy test bought in Mexico.. come on!! hahah BUT, it was correct. We were expecting! &The funniest part about our experience, the ship left out from New Orleans. We strolled around the french quarter the day before we left, and just for fun we had our palms read and did the whole tarot card thing. This lady actually told us we were expecting! That was the only thing she said that made us think she was bogus... haha Little did we know!! =)
ReplyDeleteOne of the different symptoms I had were cravings! I craved some off the wall foods, but then sometimes craved something as ordinary as chinese.. but it's like, you HAVE to eat it or else you just crave it and crave it and it never stops!! lol An odd symptom I had occasionally was the taste of metal. It was weird, but I had looked into it and I wasn't alone. It just sort of tasted like I had a nickel sitting in my mouth from time to time. *shrug* I don't know! lol OH, &my husband and I both had dreams about babies! The "pregnant feeling"..physically, I felt bloated & it was like a kind of bloat you can't suck in! Emotionally... teaaarrsss. Lots of tears, for no reason! Sometimes the oddest, most ridiculous things set it off, too. lol I had one instance of getting sick during my entire pregnancy, but felt nauseas randomly. Every woman responds differently to the hormones during pregnancy, but a lot of times you feel so different than you normally would and that's why we all say we pretty much knew when we were pregnant. =)
hey, i wanted to thank you for stopping by and commenting on my blog. it was a while back...sorry for the delayed response. i've started back blogging and hope you'll stop by again. good luck with everything. are you pregnant yet?!?!?
